SERVIQUIMIA PRESENTS THE CRYOGENIC MILL SPEX SAMPLEPREP 6770 FREEZER/MILL

27 March 2009

Is its material really so hard? Do you still have problems after all your efforts?
Have you ever tried the cryogenic mill?

The cryogenic mills of SPEX SamplePrep products line are able to grind any sample, including the hardest animal and vegetable fabrics, polymers and gums. The El 6770 Freezer/Mill introduces the sample in a liquid nitrogen bath and at the same time pulverizes it to obtain a very fine powder.

The family of SPEX SamplePrep Freezer/mills is a series of cryogenic mills for laboratory which chill samples in liquid nitrogen and pulverize them with a magnetically driven impactor. This feature has made SPEX SamplePrep Freezer/mills the most effective laboratory mills, the “mill of last resort” for many normally ungrindable samples.

· DNA/RNA extraction – human bones, teeth, fresh or old material, animal and vegetable tissues, leaves, etc. Samples are maintained at low temperature as they are immersed in liquid nitrogen.

· Pharmaceutical Analysis and Drug testing – metabolites sensitive to heat, isomers and complex molecules retain their composition as they are not degraded by pressure and heat accompanying room-temperature milling.

· Volatile compounds – insures the retention of volatile compounds.

· Medical research – The pulverizing of fresh sterilized bone is used to prepare bone cement, implant materials powder for the toxicity testing and tissues homogenizing.

· WEEE/RoHS – The samples can be broken up more completely when chilled. Friction heat is avoided and volatile fractions are not distorted.

· Plastics/polymers – Cryogenic temperature allows sample preparation in case of grinding difficulties for plastics and polymers.

6770 Freezer/Mill is equipped with the 6754 Extractor/Vial Opener and the 6755 Vial Rack, grinding vials and other accessories which are sold separately.
